This copolymer delivers upgraded freedom of design, lower costs of production, and reduced time to market, being one of the strongest filaments for FFF 3D printing. Victrex AM™200 shows a great level of thermal and chemical resistance, too.
The presented filament was created by Victrex, a well-known, British company operating in the polymers market. AM™200 FIL belongs to semi-crystalline PAEK family and it represents high-performance materials. As the manufacturer explains, PAEK (PolyArylEtherKetones) family is a group of polymers that consists of building blocks of aryl, ether, and ketone (-AEK). Thanks to the redesigned molecular structure, AM™200 FIL can print more stable and stronger parts than PEEK.
This advanced material was designed for FFF 3D printing and additive manufacturing processing. This copolymer offers durable and qualitative printouts and makes the 3D printing process relatively easy. It is suitable for higher-temperature applications and shows a good level of resistance to chemicals. The material gives the user great design freedom, enabling the printing of durable end parts with complex geometry. Wear, corrosion, and fatigue resistances can be given as other reasons why this material is preferable in diverse industrial applications. AM™200 FIL possesses better ductility than PEEK. Moreover, it has a similar extrusion temperature to PEEK and, due to slower crystallization speed, it allows higher chamber temperature during printing which can improve lamination and mechanical performance after the process.
